Sale of residential units in Sultan Haitham City in Muscat
Muscat – The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MHUP) has initiated sale of residential units in the Al Wafa neighbourhood of Sultan Haitham City, marking a significant milestone in the development of one of the future city’s premier residential areas. Spread over approximately 1mn sqm, Al Wafa will have 1,800 housing units upon completion of its five-phase construction with an estimated total investment of RO280mn.
Launch of Phase 1 introduces 375 residential units, including a mix of apartments and villas, designed to cater to a diverse range of preferences and needs. These units are scheduled for handover by the end of 2026, aligning with the anticipated completion of essential infrastructure services such as roads, telecommunications, water, sanitation, electricity and street lighting.
The sales initiation ceremony was led by H E Dr Khalfan bin Saeed al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and Salim bin Ali al Siyabi, Chairman of Board of Directors of Al Abrar Real Estate, a key developer of Sultan Haitham City.
In an effort to make homeownership more accessible, MHUP has set the starting price for residential apartments at RO29,000 for Omanis eligible for housing assistance, with villa prices beginning at RO65,000. For non-eligible Omanis and foreigners, prices start at RO101,000.
Projected to house 100,000 residents, Sultan Haitham City will spread over 14.8mn sqm and feature 19 integrated neighbourhoods, promising a holistic living experience. The city’s development is planned in four phases, beginning from 2024 to 2045.
